As many of you know, CEMA President Vincent Reyna and Executive Board Member-at-Large Dania Schaffer have scheduled Special Meetings on November 1 and 3, 2017, to hold an unauthorized election to disaffiliate CEMA from OE3. Last week, OE3 sought an injunction to prevent such an election on the grounds that it violates CEMA’s Bylaws and its affiliation agreement with OE3.
Earlier today, the Honorable Judge Maureen Folan of the Superior Court for the County of Santa Clara, issued a Temporary Restraining Order blocking CEMA, Vincent Reyna and Dania Schaffer, from “conducting or proceeding with an election on November 1, 2017, or at any other date until the hearing on the preliminary injunction to disaffiliate the County Employees Management Association (CEMA) from Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3.” The hearing on the preliminary injunction has been scheduled for November 13, 2017.
We have confirmed that the Special Meetings & Election have been canceled In accordance with this order. If you have any questions or learn otherwise, please contact either Zeb Feldman or Mario Brito.
